Pizza With Honey Bourbon Sauce

I discovered how easy it is to grill pizza several years ago and I've made so many different combinations since! It's a great way to clean out the frig and use bits and pieces left over too.  It's an easy process especially if you take a simple shortcut of buying fresh pizza dough. I get mine from the local pizza shop- most are happy to sell you just the dough ball. If you are going gluten free there are several gluten free pizza doughs that will work and of course the sauces are gluten free.  I usually get a large pizza dough ball and divide it into 4 sections. Flour your counter top just enough so that the dough doesn't...

Wild Maine Blueberry Vodka Sauce with Pancakes

I love pancakes. Actually I love all things breakfast, especially if someone else is making it. When we go out for breakfast it's not uncommon for the bill be more that a dinner bill would be!  I also love blueberries and my Wild Maine Blueberry Vodka Sauce is the perfect way to enjoy pancakes. My boyfriend has several family members with Celiacs Disease and while he doesn't have full blown Celiacs he does have a sensitivity that is noticeable.  I make my own mix of gluten free flour using a combination of brown rice flour, sweet white rice flour, potato starch, tapioca flour and xanthan gum. You can also try Bob's Reds Mill One to One flour.  I have found this...

Maine is a big potato producer and being from northern Maine, also known as The County, potatoes were everywhere. There are so many great ways to enjoy potatoes so of course I just had to try doing them in the smoker!  I've prepared potatoes many ways over the years but combining them with cheese, bacon and our award winning Apple Rum Sauce is one of my favorites.   Even though I did these in the smoker you could easily do them in the oven.  Here's how: Wash potatoes- I use either round whites or russets.  Cook 3-4 bacon strips, cook and chop. Microwave for 5-6 minutes, you want them to be just starting to soften.  When cool slice potatoes into 1/4"...

Wild Turkey With Apple Rum Sauce

It's Spring and that means turkey hunting time across the country. Wild turkey is different from farm raised turkey. It's not gamey and if cooked correctly is moist and delicious. Most of the time we breast out the wild turkey and are left with a very large skinless cut of meat. After cutting the meat out I place the meat in a bowl with water and allow it to soak for several hours in the refrigerator. I don't add anything to the water.                                          So what is a good way to prepare your harvest? One of our favorite ways is to use...

Apple Rum Sauce Gets National Recognition!

The past month has been a big one for not only our Apple Rum BBQ Sauce but Honey Bourbon as well. Every time I get the results I have to read them several times to make sure I'm reading it right!       Last year our sponsorship of Creekside Cookers was very successful with several including Buda Texas Weiner Dog Races Cookoff 3rd place out of 60 teams, and New Braunfels Texas Sheriff's Posse BBQ Cookoff Reserve Grand Champion.      They use our Apple Rum Sauce on ribs and the Honey Bourbon on chicken at these events. The floods in 2015 in Texas did cause a disruption of the cookoff schedule for the guys but even with that the results were awesome.   ...
